Testing...1...2...3...

This is my first blog on this site. I've done some previous blogging on MySpace, but thought I'd try this out since I have a few friends and family members that do it as well. So, here we go!

It's a Monday...bleh. I have mixed feelings about Mondays. As far as work goes, I hate Mondays. There is always the feeling of "geeze...I wish I could sleep in today," or "NOOOOO....the weekend can't be over already!" But the Mondays I hate the most are Deadline Mondays, and today is a Deadline Monday. I work for a motorcycle and ATV trade publication selling advertising space to manufacturers and distributors in the Powersports industry. For the most part, I love my job! I get to talk to interesting people all day long and sell ad space, which I usually feel I am pretty good at. This Deadline Monday, I do not feel like a champion ad seller...I feel like an extremely lame ad seller. We're closing the May issue today and my sales are down considerably...bleh.

So, until 4:30, Monday stinks. Mon-night will be fun. My 12 year old brother, Sam, is spending the night with Adam and I tonight....well, actually it will pretty much be with just me. This semester, Adam has class on Mondays from 5:30-9:45 and will get home around 10:30. While I miss the hubba bubba on those nights, it's fun to have some quality time with my bro. We just adopted our dog, Jack, and Sam and I take him to the pet obedience training on Monday nights. Since the brotha-man spends a pretty decent amount of time with us, we felt it would be good for him to take the training with me.

Jack is a very good dog, but boy is he stubborn when it comes to learning new stuff! Because he's a very intelligent breed (Australian Cattle Dog), he will be somewhat difficult to train...shouldn't be that way, right? Wrong. The more intelligent breeds will pick things up, but they are stubborn and want to do it their way. For the last week and a half, we've been trying to establish ourselves as the pack leaders, and Jack sometimes forgets that we are the leaders. Right now, the thing we are most struggling with is leash walking (he always wants to lead, and that is bad because that means he wants to be the leader), getting him to understand sit/stand and that it's not playtime, and barking at strangers and dogs when we're out on walks. We're working on it, but again, it is going to be a long process, and we will need to practice every day and be consistent.

I think that's all for this blog...until next time!
