Today's doctor's appointment

Today I had my 15/16 week doctor's appointment. Nothing really major happened at this one, except I did get to hear the baby's heartbeat again! This time, the heartbeat was 152 beats per minute, versus the 162bmp from four weeks ago. In a few weeks, I need to go get some blood work done to test for spina bifida, down syndrome, and one other thing that I can't remember. It's all routine testing, so I'm not worried. Also, the preggo girl's least favorite part of the visit...weigh-in. On the good side, I've only gained 2 lbs this last month, and considering I lost 6 lbs during my first month of pregnancy, I still haven't truly gained any weight during this pregnancy. Still down 4. We'll see how that goes at my next visit!

In four weeks (when I'm at the halfway mark), we get to do another sonogram! This is the one where we could possibly find out the gender of the baby. Of course....we're not going to!!! We want to be surprised since it's one of the very few instances where you can truly be surprised in life. Also, anytime now I should be able to start feeling the fluttering feeling of early baby kicks! I'm so excited for that to happen. It truly is something I've dreamed about for so long! I'll let you know when it happens!

That's about it here. Have a great week!

Nee, your trip to motherhood seems to be going very well for you. Gramma and I are delighted to read about it and to be with you at least online. Yes, do wait for the surprise! We have heard of one little boy who, when told his mother was expecting, was hoping for a puppy!

=) too bad the doctor doesn't count the weight loss as a negative... they only look at what you've gained! boo... it sucks... hehe, cause "technically" I've only gained like 4 pounds!
